Lost My Laptop. Working From My Phone Now.

I lost my laptop recently.

Not lost like misplaced-in-the-house. Lost like gone. Which for someone running a domain registrar, an agency, and a live SEO experiment on a personal site, is not a small thing.

My first reaction was to panic a little about how I’m going to manage. The most important thing has been consistency — showing up, publishing, tracking what happens. A gap because I don’t have a machine felt like it would undo the thing I’m trying to prove.

And it did.

Then I sat with it for a while and asked a more useful question: what do I actually need a laptop for, right now?

Most of what I do on issamzk.com is writing. Markdown files, committed to a repo, deployed automatically. I don’t need a full dev environment for that. I need a way to edit text and push it.

Turns out the GitHub app on my phone does exactly that. Find the file, tap edit, write, commit. The site rebuilds itself. No laptop in the loop at all.

For anything heavier — actual component changes, layout work — there’s github.dev. Swap the URL from github.com to github.dev and it opens a real code editor in the browser. Not as comfortable as a laptop, but comfortable enough that “no laptop” stopped being a blocker and became an inconvenience.

So the plan for now: draft, paste into GitHub, commit from my phone. Same rhythm, smaller screen.

The blog doesn’t stop. The dashboard doesn’t stop. Jetdomains doesn’t stop. It just runs through a different device for a while.
